Bicycles

Students who use a bicycle on campus must have a valid permit affixed to it. Bicycles can only be parked at designated bicycle racks, and all bicycles must be locked to the rack. Bicycle permits may be obtained at no cost from the Department of Police and Public Safety's parking division.

The MSU Bikes Service Center, centrally located on the River Trail, just west of the Farm Lane bridge, offers bicycle repair services, short and long term bicycle rentals, used bicycles, and accessories for sale. Access to compressed air is also available 24-hours at the center. Abandoned and donated bicycles are recycled, painted green and offered as economical, environmentally friendly, and healthy transportation alternatives for the Michigan State University campus community. Green bikes are leased for an annual fee on a first-come, first-served basis.
