Athletic Training

Athletic training is a specialty in the sports medicine field, focused on improving the health and well-being of competitive and recreational athletes. Based in the Department of Kinesiology, this program offers students exposure to state-of-the-art philosophies, equipment and research while working with numerous athletic teams at MSU and area high schools.

The program includes learning experiences that will prepare graduates to evaluate injuries, consult with physicians, make immediate decisions and communicate with coaches, student-athletes and clinical athletic training supervisors. More than 95 percent of graduates pass the Athletic Board of Certification exam.
