The bachelors of arts degree in mathematics provides students with a strong mathematical foundation in problem solving and mathematical proof. Senior-level courses require extensive theoretical mathematics necessary for graduate work in multiple fields, applications to the education field and/or work with applications to industry. The arts portion of the degree requires more of a foreign language competency than a bachelor of science degree.
Graduates in mathematics pursue careers that span multiple areas, such as business, industry, education and the private sector, excelling in jobs that demand deep knowledge of mathematical theory and application.
