Manage parent/guardian account access

For security purposes, students are cautioned never to share their MSU NetID and password with anyone. However, we realize that some students may want the option to easily share information in their StuInfo account with parents, guardians or spouses. For this purpose, students can create guest accounts and grant guests access to view and pay their bill, view financial aid information, view IRS 1098-T data, view MSU charges and credits, and confirm their attendance.

Student instructions

To add or remove guests, simply log in to StuInfo and choose "Manage Guests" from the "Other" menu in the top-right corner of the page. From there you can add any new guests you'd like, as well as manage existing guest access to different parts of your StuInfo.

Guest instructions

After your student has created a guest account for you, follow the instructions in the activation email, then log in to StuInfo:

  1. Go to StuInfo.
  2. Enter your Community ID (i.e., your email address) into the MSU ID field.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Click the "Login" button.

You may use the Community ID Self Service page to unlock your account, reset your password or change your email address.

Security questions

You or anyone calling on your behalf must be able to answer your security questions in order to discuss account information. If you would like to authorize guests to be able to discuss confidential information related to your financial aid, you will need to check the "Financial Aid" checkbox on the Manage Guests page for that guest, and you will need to share your security questions with them.
