Sign up for transfer orientation

If you have not yet submitted your Advanced Enrollment Deposit (AED), you must do so before you can register for a New Student Orientation (NSO) date.

After fall transfer students have submitted their deposit, they will be given the option to select and sign up for an orientation date. If you are starting in the fall and have already submitted your deposit but did not select an orientation date at that time, you will automatically be registered for the first available date.

Due to COVID-19, NSO programs have moved online for freshmen and transfer students who are U.S. citizens and enrolling in fall 2020. While orientation for fall 2020 will be a virtual experience, you still need to select an NSO date to meet with your adviser virtually and enroll in classes.

Spring and summer semester transfer students will be signed up automatically upon depositing, because spring and summer only have one transfer orientation program each.

Log into your account to submit your deposit or review your orientation date. Fall transfer students can change their orientation date up to a week prior to their currently scheduled date. Fall orientation dates fill up quickly, so you'll have more dates to choose from if you review your options earlier.

Parents and guardians of fall and spring semester transfer students are also invited to sign up for a Family Orientation Program. These programs will also be held online this summer. At this time, there is no family orientation offered for summer semester students.

Visit the orientation website for more information on your upcoming transfer orientation. If you have any questions about orientation, please contact orientation staff at 517-355-8490 or nso@msu.edu.
