Founded in 1927, The School of Hospitality Business is the second-oldest hospitality school in the nation. Ranked as the No. 1 U.S. public program by both College Choice and CEOWorld, it has launched the careers of industry presidents at some of the world’s leading hospitality companies and includes an alumni network of more than 10,000 professionals in management careers across hotels, restaurants, clubs, sports and entertainment, the cruise industry and hospitality real estate development. The jobs for a hospitality major are endless! 
 
Led by renowned faculty known for industry research and expertise, students with a hospitality major graduate with a business degree and develop leadership skills through two required internships, participation in nine student clubs and three major annual events.


College of Business Admission Process
First-year business applicants are first reviewed by the Office of Admissions for admissibility to the university. Then they are reviewed by the Broad College of Business for direct admission to the College of Business. During this time, the student's major will appear as business preference in their account (no additional action is required).

The Broad College of Business has a competitive admission program with limited space for direct admission. There are two pathways for admission:

  1. Direct admission from high school
  2. Secondary admission for current MSU students
