Interested in a finance major?
Finance major jobs encompasses corporate financial management, management of financial institutions and investments. An understanding of financial concepts, instruments and management decision-making is vital to each. Students will learn to write effectively, be ethically aware and take a great global perspective while pursuing their chosen disciplines.
The Broad College of Business is a CFA Program Partner of the CFA Institute, a global membership organization that awards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. the Chartered Financial Analyst program is a powerful avenue for boosting a career in finance at an early stage. Students may participate in directing the Student Investment Fund and may apply to join the Financial Markets Institute.
College of Business Admission Process
First-year business applicants are first reviewed by the Office of Admissions for admissibility to the university. Then they are reviewed by the Broad College of Business for direct admission to the College of Business. During this time, the student's major will appear as business preference in their account (no additional action is required).
The Broad College of Business has a competitive admission program with limited space for direct admission. There are two pathways for admission:
Graduates with a finance major are prepared to be successful business leaders and scholars in the fields of finance and business law. Employment opportunities exist in industrial and brokerage firms, public utilities, banks, insurance companies, credit unions and government agencies.
