Transcript submission FAQ for first-year applicants

MSU requires that official transcripts are sent directly from each school or institution you’ve attended. This includes all high school transcripts, as well as transcripts from any dual enrollment or early/middle college programs.

Transcripts can be sent through the following methods.

If your current high school transcript includes all course names, grades and credits for grades 9–11, you only need to submit your transcript from your current school.
If any information is missing (such as courses listed as "TRANSFER" or grades shown only as Pass/Fail), you must also submit official transcripts from all previous high schools.

If your new school includes all your past course work (grades 9-11) on your transcript, please submit that.
If your new school does not have your previous course work, you must submit
- a transcript or enrollment verification from your current school showing your enrollment;
- official transcripts from all previous high schools.

Please submit:

an official transcript from your current U.S.-based school;
an official transcript from the non-U.S. school where you earned credit.

If your U.S. school has a copy of your official international transcript on file, they may send a certified copy on your behalf. All transcripts must be translated into English.

If you want to receive college credit for your dual enrollment courses, you must send an official transcript from the college/university.

You do not need to submit an official college/university transcript for admission purposes.

Official external exam scores (Cambridge, Pearson/Edexcel, IB, Singapore-Cambridge, CXC, etc.), when applicable.
Official transcripts showing your internal grades.
Official secondary school (high school) transcripts for grades 9-12 to help ensure prompt processing.
Official transcripts from any dual enrollment or early/middle college programs.
You may also need to follow additional transcript requirements based on your country, region or education system.
