We know the out-of-state cost to attend MSU is high and we are investing heavily to increase affordability and accessibility for non-resident students. The following scholarships are awarded to incoming domestic out-of-state first-year students for tuition purposes, pending available funding, and are contingent upon students maintaining out-of-state residency status. In most instances, no additional applications are required.
The MSU Non-resident Scholarship designates award levels for domestic out-of-state students based on high school GPA at the end of junior year. All out-of-state students who apply to MSU as a first-year student are automatically considered. Scholarship recipients may also be eligible for additional merit-based scholarships at MSU. Students living in Ohio or Pennsylvania are not eligible for this award. Please refer to scholarship information by state for more details.
