Elementary Education

A student working on an elementary education degree sits on the floor and reads a story to a classroom of children.

In the elementary teacher preparation program, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to teach all subjects in kindergarten through fifth grade and a specific subject area in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Key elements include a strong foundation in all content areas plus additional depth in a selected teaching major, courses on the most effective teaching practices and a full-year, guided teaching internship in a public school after completion of the bachelor’s degree.

MSU has been ranked No. 1 in the nation for both elementary and secondary education for more than 25 years by U.S. News & World Report
