The environmental geosciences major leads to the Bachelor of Science degree. The major is designed for persons who want to pursue a career in the environmental sciences with core training in the earth sciences. It affords the individual the ability to enter professional positions in areas such as environmental consulting and governmental agencies directly after graduate, or to enter M.S. and Ph.D. graduate programs in the earth and environmental sciences leading to careers in advanced professional positons or academia.
