Freshmen and sophomores may select the premedical program in the College of Natural Science as their major preference. Students in the premedical program are enrolled in the Undergraduate University Division but receive academic advising through the college.
MSU does not offer a bachelor’s degree program for premedical students, however, so these students must select a major leading to a bachelor’s degree once they reach junior standing, regardless of whether they have completed the requirements for the premedical program.
Premedical is not a major but an MSU code for students who are not sure which major they plan to pursue and want to indicate interest in a human health career. All preprofessional students must pick a major in order to graduate from MSU.
