All freshman students must live on campus during their first year at MSU, and many decide to do so for two years or more.
After you have submitted your Advanced Enrollment Deposit (AED), you will complete your housing contract and select your preferences and meal plan. To request a roommate, follow the directions on the housing contract. If your potential roommate has not yet received an admission decision, you should still submit your AED and housing contract as soon you decide to enroll at MSU, but no later than May 1.
Once you complete your housing contract, you will receive information from Residence Education and Housing Services (REHS) regarding the housing assignment process. All students will have the option to select their own room or be assigned to a room by REHS. More information on the requirements and deadlines will be provided by REHS.
