Before attending Michigan State University, incoming transfer students must submit all final, official transcripts to MSU.
All admitted transfer students are required to send final, official college-level transcripts for each higher education institution attended prior to Michigan State University. This includes any dual enrollment credit received while in high school as well as any classes that were in progress at the time of admission. Final transcripts must be sent to MSU as soon as possible after being admitted in order to reserve your place in the incoming class.
In order to be official, transcripts must be sent directly from the institution attended to MSU. Many schools do this through an online service such as the National Student Clearinghouse. You may need to contact the institutions you attended to have them send your final, official transcripts to MSU.
If you did not send your final, official high school transcripts to MSU when you applied, you must do so as soon as possible. High school transcripts are required after the point of admission as proof of graduation in order to reserve your place in the incoming transfer class. Transcripts must be sent directly to MSU from the high school through online services or by U.S. mail.
After you have activated your MSU NetID and email, submitted your Advanced Enrollment Deposit (AED) and sent in your final transcripts, MSU will process your official transfer credit evaluation. The transfer credit evaluation will show how the courses you completed at other institutions will transfer to MSU. It will first be made available to you when you attend New Student Orientation (NSO). After orientation, you can view your credit evaluation on your transcript through MSU's secure student information system.
Until then, transfer students are encouraged to use the transfer.msu.edu to identify courses that may transfer.
Changes to your past grades or newly completed courses could have an impact on your final transfer credit evaluation. If any changes need to be made on the academic record in your account after admission, please contact the Office of Admissions.
