First-year applicants

Who should apply as a first-year student?

Apply as a first-year student if all of these are true for you:
  • You're still in high school or you've already finished and earned your diploma (or GED).
  • You haven’t enrolled in a college or university after finishing high school. If you've taken college classes while in high school, like dual enrollment or early college, you should still apply as a first-year student.
  • You’re a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder). If you’re not, you should apply as an international student instead.
