Art, communication and entertainment

If you want to study design, art, communication, languages and cultures, writing, music, film or theatre, MSU is the place for you! These fields are celebrated across campus, with Big Ten facilities that give you the opportunities and resources to bring your creative ideas to life. The personalized support you receive here will help you build your creative skillset into a successful career.

Many of these majors also require an experiential learning requirement, where your adviser will match you with our partners outside of MSU based on your interests. We also have a unique iOS lab partnership with Apple, where students work to solve community challenges through app development. Plus, MSU’s Game Design program is ranked number six nationwide according to the Princeton Review. Spartans have gone on to work at companies like Google, Microsoft, NPR, ESPN and Buzzfeed.
